What Model Is This Phone? – Cell Phone Identifier

Are you asking yourself “what model phone is this”? A more common question among phone owners than you may think, believe it or not.

Operational iPhone

Go to Settings > General > About. Model Name will be displayed and if you want to see the model number, simply tap the “model number” once.
Check any box’s or digital receipts you may have
If you know your IMEI number (15 digit number) this can be searched online using an IMEI Check

Operational Samsung

Go to Settings > About Phone
Open the Phone app and dial *#06# on the keypad.

Un-operational Samsung

Below are some tips if your Samsung phone is unusable;

All Samsung’s usually have the model number, serial number or IMEI printed on the rear battery cover, eg SM-G970. Pro Tip: Take a picture with someone else’s phone and zoom in as the text is very small!
The IMEI, serial number and model number may also be printed on the official packaging or box that came with your device.
If you can find the IMEI number (15 digit number starting with 35) you can submit here to search for details of your device.
Contacting your network provider

Its very important to ascertain the correct model number of your device before requesting a repair by anyone as prices vary drastically. You don’t want to get mixed up between the S24 valued at £1000 and the A24 valued at around £250.
